Learning outcomes:

At the end of this course, you will be able to:

1. Understand the mandate of the Law Society of British Columbia and the role of the Trust Regulation Department
2. Discuss the duty and ethical obligation that lawyers and support staff have in handling client trust funds
3. Explain the key concepts in trust accounting
4. Understand how to correctly receive and withdraw trust funds
5. Understand how to properly handle cash transactions
6. Demonstrate how to correctly reconcile pooled trust accounts
7. Understand the annual trust report filing requirements
8. Apply the Trust Administration Fee (TAF) to eligible trust deposits
9. Report a Division 7 rule violation in writing to the Law Society

This 7 hour course focuses on professional responsibility, ethics, client care and relations.
