Description:

To qualify for CPD hours, you should read the LSBC rules, which include arranging to watch this recording with at least one member of the law society. The course fee is per person.

Provincial Court of BC Judge Len Marchand will be facilitating the conversation.

Earlier this year, the Truth and Reconciliation released its Summary Report on the operation and harmful legacy of Indian Residential Schools.  The 337 page Report includes 94 “calls to action”, including eight calls to action in the field of “Justice”.  Amongst these are specific calls to action directed to the Federation of Law Societies and law schools across the country.  Please join in the dialogue about the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Report and Recommendations and the future role of the legal profession in achieving reconciliation with Canada’s indigenous peoples.

CPD: 2.0 hours (0 PRE ethics)

Proceeds from this lecture will seed the funding of the expansion of Amici Curiae's Temporary Foreign Worker Uncontested Divorce Project.
